China Glaze Shades of Paradise summer 2018 Collection - Reviews
China Glaze is a brand that always creates spectacular concepts when it comes to the nail polishes. Summer 2018 was definitely no different too. The cool colors with many red shades and blue variants, definitely have us in full summer mode. We saw many sea-blue tones and pinky-purple shades that will have you going gaga over this collection.
We’ve had a look at China Glaze Shades of Paradise Summer 2018 Collection, and this is what we found.
1st Color in the 2018 collection: Cabana Fever
This is a matte white color. The nail polish goes on a bit streaky and sheer on the first coat but will need up to three coats to get that great looking coverage. The combination of the white and matte could escalate the streakiness.
2nd Color: I'll Stand By You
This nail polish possesses a gold shimmer and is nude in color. The consistency covers well on the first coat with very little streaking and dries opaque. There is a slight shimmer present and dries a little dull. If you’re looking for a shiny finish, add a glossy top coat.
3rd nail polish in the China Glaze Summer 2018 collection: Ma-Holo At Me
This color is a blue holographic nail polish. It goes on sheer and covers your nail in two coats. Once the nail polish is dry, the entire effect of the holographic provides great coverage. The blue holographic reminds us of shimmery blue seas and is a perfect addition to China Glaze Shades of Paradise Summer 2018 collection.
4th Color: Water Falling In Love
This sky-blue color is a superb fit with the theme of the collection. This too is sheer and streaky when applying the first coat and requires about three coats to have a great looking color on your nail. It does come out thin out of the bottle and requires you to remove some of the nail polish on the side of the bottle before taking it to your nail. The nail polish has a squishy consistency and once dry, is exquisitely shiny.
We can see why this one is included in the China Glaze Shades of Paradise Summer 2018 collection.
5th Color: Mer Made For Bluer Waters
This nail polish is a bright blue with a bluish-greenish shimmer to it. It applies sheer on the first coat but provides great coverage at two coats. It dries shiny and the greenish shimmer is more prominent. As its name suggests, we are reminded of ocean blue water and clear skies when applying this polish.
6th Color: Stop Beach Fronting
This light Indigo color is sheer when applying the first coat. It looks like it has a bit of a jelly consistency going on. The polish covers superbly in two coats. Once dry, it has a shiny look to it.
The next nail polishes won’t disappoint you either. China Glaze is known for creating great quality nail polishes and are able to use pigmentation in the nail polishes that caters for many.
7th Color in the Shades of Paradise collection: Boujee Board
This purple-ish red color goes on well at the first coat application. The liquid in the bottle appears to have a purple color, but once applied on your nails could lean towards pink. The best coverage appears after a third coat application and the polish dries matte.
8th Color: Don’t Be Sea Salty
This hot pink number has very little shimmer in. The formula is ideal for a less-streaky application on the first coat. Once the application is dry, the nail polish appears matte.
Additional tip:
Like many nails polishes in this collection; three coats provide the best coverage.
9th Color: Kiki In Our Tiki
This nail polish is China Glaze Shade of Paradise collection is a hint between pink, red and orange. The liquid in the bottle leans towards pink, but once on your nails, the color is more orange. It applies slightly sheer on the first coat. This nail polish provides the best coverage at three coats.
We kinda get the other names in this collection, but this one had us stumped for a bit.
This nail polish is a pink crème. It’s a little sheer on the first coat but hardly shows any streaks. The liquid is quite thin, but coverage is fairly even on your nails. You’re able to get away with two coats, but if you’re looking for a darker shade; three coats will do the trick for you.
11th Color: All Sun And Games
This nail polish is a bright orange with a gold shimmer. The liquid is also somewhat sheer on the first coat application. This nail polish dries matte and requires about three coats to get the best coverage on your nail.
Like its name suggests, we’re reminded of the heat of the sun and liveliness that it represents.
12th Color: Tropic Of Conversation
This is a very bright coral shade with a gold shimmer. It isn’t sheer on the first coat but applies fairly even. The formula works well and covers evenly, while the shimmer stands out well. Apply three coats for the best coverage on your nail and dries matte.

China Glaze outdid themselves again with their Summer 2018 collection. We love that we reminded of outdoor activities related to Summer and the tones and hues are exquisite. Although it isn’t the best on the market, it is superb nonetheless.

Our favorite polish is Tropic of Conversation because it needs less coat application than any of the other nail polishes in the Summer 2018 collection made by China Glaze. Gold and Coral are such welcoming colors which are pleasantly easy on the eye. Let us know in the comments below which of these are your favorite.
