OPI Lisbon Collection 2018 -12 shades for Summer 2018
They’ve incorporated the culture of Portuguese history with modernization and that of traditionalism. This collection makes use of yellow tones to bright blue hues, that add so much more to summer 2018. OPI’s nail polish collection consists of limited edition shades of 12 x Infinite Shine Long Wear, 12 x Nail Lacquer and 12 x Gel Colors.
This is our take on the OPI Lisbon collection for this year.
1st Color: Closer Than You Might Belém
This nail polish color is a Tiffany blue shade and it is an ideal summer color. The teal undertones remind us of the ocean. When applying the first coat, it already dries opaque. But if you’re after a little more depth, adding a second coat can be achieved too.
2nd Color: Tile Art to Warm Your Heart
This classic summery blue by OPI is bright and a perfect color in their Lisbon Collection. Although they tend to create a similar color in any of their other Summer collection; this one has a great formula. You’ll find the best coverage after the second coat.
3rd Color: Suzi Chases Portu-geese
The first coat applies quite sheer and a little more squishy than other white nail polishes (made by OPI or others). The color certainly reminds us of marshmallows. In order to get the perfect coverage, apply approximately three coats to achieve the best look.
4th Color: Made It To the Seventh Hill!
Appropriately named according to the reference of Lisbon; this nail polish has a bronze shade and when the first coat is applied, dries a bit sheer. The color reminds us of the ancient magical stories surrounding the city for which bronze is an ideal fit. The formula is fully opaque after the second application is done. Although we found the consistency to be a bit streaky while applying it, the polish levels itself out as it dries out.
5th Color: Lisbon Wants Moor OPI
OPI Lisbon collection has more than one white. This too is an almost-white color, with a pink tone to it. It’s ideal for a subtle look as opposed to a white that comes across as harsh. Its super shiny and covers your nail perfectly by the second coat application.

6th Color: You've Got Nata On Me
This nail polish has a warm peachy- orangy tone to it. The color is fairly light and when the first coat is applied, goes on sheer. After you’ve applied the third coat, you’ll notice that coverage is superb with this little number. The creators of the OPI spring/summer 2018 collection did well to include this nail polish.
7th Color: the Tagus in That Selfie!
#TagusInThatSelfie is the hero shade in the OPI Lisbon Collection. This pink crème possesses a cool undertone, which is by far a magnificent summer color. The nail polish has an opaque formula and covers your nail fully in about two coats.
8th Color: No Turning Back From Pink Street
This is a hot pink color that goes on superbly at the first coat. There’s really no need for a second coat, but if you like more depth; go ahead.
9th Color: We Seafood and Eat It
Portugal is renowned for its seafood dishes, it is only fitting to have a nail polish color that represents this aspect of the Portuguese culture. This is a classic color from OPI. It is a pinkish red color that goes on well by the second coat. Reminds us of the color of seafood. It is an ideal summer pedicure color, so works well this season your toes.
10th Color: Now Museum, Now You Don't
This is a shimmery red color with a warm festive feel to it. The nail polish covers well even on the first coat. However, applying a second coat to your nails adds a little more depth which makes the color a little bolder and slightly more noticeable. This nail polish suits the entire OPI Lisbon Collection and the name a bit more flamboyant (which we love).
11th Color: A Retrieval City
This nail polish color is definitely not a perfect red, but it is closer to orange. If you have short nails, then you could probably get away with one coat. If you have longer nails, you can apply two coats for a better coverage.
12th Color: Sun, Sea, and Sand in My Pants
This is a stunning bright yellow crème color that provides splendid coverage. It is a bit sheer because it is light. However, if you have short nails you could get away with just one coat. If you have long nails, more than one coat would be better.

The nail polish color that stood out the most for us was Sun, Sea, and sand in my Pants. Why? Because the bright yellow is a fitting color for summer and is always represents fun and life. The consistency of the nail polish goes on well and if you have short nails; you can get away with just one coat. This means less time to get yourself looking snazzy, and more time enjoying endless summer fun.
We thought the entire collection was superb, even if Now Museum, Now You Don’t have a Christmassy feel to it. Because some parts of the world experience Christmas in Summer, this shade can be used for Christmas in the summer season too.
As always, OPI outshines other brands in the names that they choose for their polishes. However, a lot of care is taken to formulate and pigment high quality polishes, that allows you to wear them for longer.
